I'm Playing In a "Chicago" Tribute Band Tonight!

Tonight I'll be performing with my brother and several members of his church in a Chicago tribute band!  We'll be playing  a full set of hit songs made famous by the group.  Instruments tonight include keyboards, two guitars, drums, three trumpets, two trombones and flute.

Update:  Here's a video of us doing "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is"

That was pretty darn good. Just a couple of things could have been better.
Trumpet player need to rehearse a little more. The background vocalist should have sang an octive higher.

The trombone player really captured Jimmy Pankow's style.

I enjoyed this.

Thanks! We only rehearsed all together once... about 45 minutes before the actual performance.

By the way, my brother ordered a couple of Chicago arrangement books at a music store and that's what the horn players used. For me, I've played these songs in the past and so I just played them by memory. With perfect pitch, you can get away with that. :)

I don't memorize lyrics though, so I usually end up reading them on the music stand. But the music is all played by ear.
