Charter Fishing on the "Independence" - WindyCitySalmon

I went fishing with my wife and several students on Sunday, June 10.  We were on the boat "Independence" captained by Capt Rick Bentley of WindyCitySalmon.com.

We originally had six students signed up, but two bowed out and one graciously offered her trip as a gift to my wife.  I offered her a free class as a counter gift.

We had planned for a 6 person, 6 hour trip starting out at 5 AM, but due to thunderstorms, the Captain decided to push us back to a departure time of 7:30 AM instead.  This worked out great and while we were rained on during most of the trip, it made for a cooler day and great fishing too!

We lowered our hourly time on the boat to five hours instead and during that time, we caught 7 Lake Trout and 8 Coho Salmon!  It was heavy holding that fish board up for the photo!  We split the catch up into 5 bags and ended up with quite a bit of fish!

I highly recommend Captain Rick and WindyCitySalmon!  Very nice guy and definitely knows his stuff when it comes to fishing.  He answered all of our questions and even gave us a lesson on the history of fishing on Lake Michigan.  I would definitely hire him again for any future charter trips!  Check out his website and book him soon!

Brookfield Zoo Field Trip

Another fun day at Brookfield Zoo yesterday!  Forgot to bring sunscreen and got a bit sunburned, but it was a cool enough day for the trip.  So many people out there at the zoo!  I guess when the weather is good, everyone comes out!

These images were taken with my Nikon D4 and Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 lens shot at f2.8.  I'm always amazed at the color and clarity of this combination.  Very hard to beat!

Pressure Washer

I rented a Pressure Washer from Home Depot today to wash all the bricks in the front of my home and also all of the brick pavers on our patio in the back of our home.  It took over 3 hours to do and I was splashed all over with dirt and grime!  But in the end, the bricks all came our really clean!

I'd do it again in the future if needed.  Pressure Washers are relatively easy to use and sure beats any other method of cleaning rough surfaces like bricks and concrete!
